Chelsey asked me a lot during our trip what my favorite part was so far. At the end of day 3 as we were laying in a shared Queen size bed in Richard's parents house, so unbelievably uncomfortable from the FEAST his mom cooked for us, and she asked me, "What's been your favorite thing?" I answered quickly with, "Today." Day three is still my favorite day of the trip. It just felt so...so...English! We started our day exploring a few quaint towns, driving through green countryside with rolling hills covered in sheep (or pigs!) The conversation was good, and it was all leading up to a night ending in my favorite meal on the entire trip: roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roasted veggies in cheesy leek sauce, wine, sticky toffee pudding, followed by port and fancy cheeses! Earlier that day we went to Ludwig where we explored an old castle and had afternoon tea and crumpets. The worst and best part of the day though was when my antique dining chair gave way underneath me at dinner while I was trying to get a picture of the sticky toffee pudding Richard's mom made. Camera in hand, I crashed into the table in front of seven gasping family members. Chelsey caught my camera, no wine was spilled, and my leg was extremely bruised for days afterwards. It was mortifying, like a scene from that movie, Meet The Fockers, when everything comes crashing down. I had never been so embarrassed, and also have never laughed so hard.
